Day 07 - Madison,Wi - Eau Claire, Wi

We stopped by Eric Powers', organizer of the hybrid car event Hybridfest, home town of Sauk City, Wisconsin. All the neighbors came by to see the futuristic vehicle and soon we found ourselves eating strawberries and talking to a reporter with the local paper. Eric's next door neighbors, The Snyder family, made a generous contribution to the project and even let Marcelo fix a part in Paul Snyder's organ repair shop!

We arrived in Eau Claire and charged up the car while Drew from Volume One Magazine shot photos. Afterward, he treated us to some real Wisconsin cheese (and what a treat it was!) We spent the night at the home of the Original Jeff (O.J.) although we were up with the sun and didn't get to spend as much time with him as we'd hoped. Hopefully we'll get to go out in Madison on the way back!

296.2km (184 miles)
Sharing some of the technology used on XOF1, we did a quick stop at Rich's work. His company develop biometric products and the Microptical (mircro display) used at XOF1 looks promising for other applications being developed at Rich's work.

The neighborhood kids came out to learn about the solar car, lots of inquisitive minds.
