Day 40 - Pelly Crossing, YT - Dawson City, YT

Todd and Marcelo again set up the array while Carrie and Mo snored on.

Max joins the team, we catch up on updates, and prepare the tires for the rough roads ahead.

Soon after entering Dawson City we were pulled over by the RCMP with a letter from Mr.Walter Brennan requesting the RCMP to intercept Marcelo da Luz asking to verify the solar car vehicle liability insurance. One would think that the main concern would be safety but the emphasis was on the documentation of the solar car.

Marcelo and Carrie are taking advantage of the great wi-fi coverage in Pelly Crossing to update the web page with the recent progress.
A group of first nation gathered around the solar car to learn about the project. They were one of the best audience we had so far, very supportive of our initiative.
XOF1 taking on a gravel road, training for Dempster Highway.
Max and Mo stopped by a bridge to take photos of the solar car, there were a group of people just hanging out by the bridge. They did not expect to see the UFO XOF1.
As the temperature drops Marcelo covered his mouth to avoid fogging up the windshield.
XOF1 crossing another steel bridge.
More hills and more gravel.
The crew taking a break at a rest area still along a gravel section of the road.
We found some wild blueberries. No one other than Marcelo showed much interest in trying to eat the wild berries but they all tried a few. No casualties! After a bit of extra research we have concluded that these were in fact huckleberries.
Carrie on the road capturing the moment.
Still on a gravel road, rainbow on the back ground. Lot's of rain. Finally we were getting a break from all the precipitation.
Lots to celebrate!
XOF1 the first solar car to travel this far north on the planet. It finally arrives in Dawson City.
The solar car was pulled over by the RCMP. The Yukon motor vehicle department requested that the RCMP intercept Marcelo to check its documentation and make sure it was all in order. The request to investigate Marcelo's solar car was initiated by the Northwest Territories.

The oficer delivered the letter they received to Marcelo and requested him to see the Motor Licencing office the following day.
