Day 30 - Edmonton, AB - Grande Prairie

Tippy Agogo shows the new crew the ropes, navigating through the city streets to arrive at Edmonton's City TV for a live interview and recording of the X of 1's departure.

Mo was introduced to the wheel and we all soon got into the "block left" "turn right" "blockers" groove ... the weather was great and the ride smooth to Grande Prairie.

Friends with friends are a real blessing - Ted's friend Karen arranged hotel sponsorship for the night with Super 8. The friendliness and generousity of the Grande Prairie manager Trudy Hill and staff made us feel like family - the well liked kind. We set up the array in the parking lot, got to know Trudy better while the batteries charged and took turns revelling in the luxury of our rooms. Turns out Trudy lived in Inuvik previously and her enthuiasm and fondness for the place gets us psyched about what lies ahead.
Marcelo's friend and former mayor of Inuvik - Peter Clarkson- was in town and joined the crew for the evening. Marcelo hopes to make it to Inuvik before Peter leaves on a three week canoe trip on July 22nd.

The XOF1 leaves it's Edmonton enclave. Ted's Garage.
Thanks Ted and DK !!!
Ryan (City TV reporter) came by to see wish us a good trip.
Thanks, we'll see you on the way back!

City TV BT camera crew capture on live tv XOF1 leaving the downtown Edmonton. Thank you everyone!
On the road outside Edmonton, lots of trucks and smoke.
The beautiful yellow from a canola field, the photo doesn't do justice.
The weather was overcast at times we were able to tell which direction the sun was coming from.
In Grand Prairie at the Super 8 parking lot charging the batteries, we barely made it there, the batteries were totally empty.
